Welcome to the Akiba Hebrew Academy Debate and World Affairs website. Akiba Debate and World Affairs meets twice a cycle in room 17 during lunch.   Akiba enters 4 major competitions a year, Yale, Viliger or Penn, Princeton and Harvard. At these tournaments we participate in Lincoln Douglas debate, Model Congress and Speech.  We participate in these tournaments while continuing our involvement in the local Inter-AC debate league as well as the  Model UN and Model Senate of the Philadelphia World Affairs Council.

    This website contains everything you will ever need to know about debate and world affairs: format and tips for our local debate league (Inter- AC), links and info about Lincoln Douglas debate, the different kinds of speech Akiba participates in and how to do them, information about our model senate, model United Nations, and Model congress, as well as news from the steering committee, and an events calendar to keep track of tournaments and meetings, in school and out of school.  We hope we have answered all questions about Debate and World Affairs and that this website is useful.
